Hello Family! This week we went deeper into the concept of  “Conversations With God”. We examined the concept that God wants you to know you have a purpose and give you clarity for the vision He has for your life!

God is looking for people that He cannot only fellowship with but use for His purposes. He calls everyone to come and enjoy His salvation but a few are chosen to carry out His agenda in the earth and be His spokesmen. He longs to share His heart and plans with us and have us speak on His behalf.

When God spoke to the prophet Jeremiah we noticed the back and forth nature of the conversation. God has a lot to say about what he wants us to do. About how to walk in our purpose and fulfill destiny. We will always feel insufficient for the task He assigns. This is on purpose because it keeps us reliant on God. If we feel too confident we should be worried. This keeps us reliant on Him and keeps us coming back to Him for conversation on how to move forward. For God it is always about the exchange and the fellowship. He will always leave enough blanks in our lives so we have to run back to Him for counsel, wisdom and instruction.

Some main points became real to us.

  1. God does not call the qualified. He qualifies those that He calls. He will equip you for whatever your assignment is.

We like the apostle Paul can receive the word of the Lord that, “My grace is sufficient for you; for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Cor. 12 9

It is in our weakness that we reach out to God and He gives us His strength, His wisdom, His knowledge. In and of ourselves we do not have the capacity to carry out His will.

  1. He wants to partner with us in the work He is doing. He wants us to not only have information, but have an understanding of His ways and His work so that we can first, do His will and secondly, translate His heart to others accurately.

His Word promises that the “Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:2

Though God is sovereign he desires friendship with us. Friends exchange information. They let one another in on their plans. They garner opinions, insights and options. As a faithful father and loving friend God chooses to include us in what He is doing and give us foresight. He enjoys the exchange.

  1. He is committed to covering us and backing us up as we stand for Him and carry out His instructions.

This is one of my favorite scriptures for times when I doubt my own ability to do something that God has asked me to do. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

If God has told you to do something He will not forsake you and he will give you everything you need in order to do it. We are without excuse because God makes provision for every vision He gives. We must proceed by faith and when in doubt stop and seek His direction. He is always ready to elaborate and prove His faithfulness to us.

The questions posed to us this week were these:

What do you feel called to do?

How has your own sense of insufficiency held you back from answering Gods call?

What conversation do you need to have with God in order to be obedient to what He has asked you to do?

If you’ve ever doubted if you could do what God has asked you to do take His promise to heart.

“You are my servant. I have chosen you and not cast you off. Fear not for I am with you; be not dismayed for I am your God; I will strengthen you. I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:9.10
